Oh darn I didn't even know about the Suchi. I love that you are researching and posting links Brian. It adds so much to the posts. That is Terry in my sketch.
This second post is a cheat on my part. I was only 247 miles away from Gabi when I did this sketch. But the sketch book is now 3142 miles from Gabi's sketchbook..
I was wondering where in Florida there were cabins like that one! I only realized your sketch was done in my state after reading Brian's thoroughly researched comment!
Yes Brian that was my route. I am sure Gabi wouldn't mind heading to Captiva Island right now with his family to escape the cold Northwest. Then again it is colder here right now. It is 49 degrees in Seattle and 39 degrees in Orlando right now.
Gabi Campanario (left) is a journalist and illustrator from Spain living and drawing in Seattle, Washington.
Thomas Thorspecken (right) is an illustrator, artist and journalist sketching in and around Orlando, Florida.
South by Northwest began January 1st of 2010 as a visual dialogue between the two artists who live 3142 miles apart on opposite coasts of the United States. The artists will both post one sketch every Monday.
This is intended a a visual dialogue between the artists. We welcome your comments!
I just looked up Manitou Lodge and enjoyed reading about their seasonally unrestricted "Discount for Sushi" program. (Hope Thor took them up on this.)
ReplyDeleteI also squinted and looked up Gabi’s sketch of ReclinerLand at Crossroads Bellevue. Perhaps the woman in Thor’s sketch (his wife, Terry?) is looking up directions.
Looking forward to the inevitable split-image sporting event(s) sketch from half court/field/rink.

ReplyDelete247 miles away? So this was your route? It’s okay, Thor. Gabi will just have to post a sketch done in Captiva Island before the year is out.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I could use some sun!
ReplyDeleteIt rained all day today.
